Our SCRIP committee needs help! Due to the volume of business our school produces through SCRIP, we need more helping hands to aid with marketing, card pick-up, ordering, etc. Please contact the school office (765-288-5878) if you can offer your time.
What is SCRIP?
SCRIP is a term that means “substitute money.” When families purchase SCRIP, they are purchasing gift cards that are used like cash. The gift cards are issued by local and national retailers where our families already shop. These merchants want to support our school and, in turn, ask us to support them by shopping with SCRIP at their business. Families can use SCRIP to purchase everyday items such as food, clothing, gas, and other essentials. With every purchase, our school earns money.
How does SCRIP earn money for the school?
Great Lakes SCRIP Center purchases large amounts of gift cards from retailers. Since the gift cards are purchased with cash up front, the participating retailers offer a substantial discount, and the gift card company resells the gift cards to our school for full face value. The discount ranges from 1.5% to 20%. This discounted amount is what our school earns as profit.
Local Business that participate in SCRIP:
Amazing Joe’s, Concannons, IHOP, Johnny Carinos, MTCup, Pizza King, Marsh, Muncie Frozen Custard and Miniature Golf, and Meijer.
How do I order SCRIP?
Online at www.shopwithscrip.com – You will be given a user name and temporary password by the coordinator for SCRIP at school. You can place your order online.
School order forms– Order forms can be picked up in the front office.
How do I pay for SCRIP? Online payments can be made through Presto Pay if you order online. Online orders and paper orders using the school form can be paid by check to the school office. Please make checks payable to St. Mary School.
Does the school keep gift cards in stock?
Yes, our school does keep an inventory of gift cards available for quick sales. However, our inventory does run low, and we do not keep all the gift cards that are available in stock. Gift cards can be special ordered at no additional cost to you. The school simply places an order to Great Lakes, and the cards are sent to the school.
Special ordering is done on a weekly basis. The deadline to place your order is every Wednesday by 9 a.m. Gift cards arrive 2 days later by late Friday afternoon and will be available for pick up on Monday morning. If orders are not picked up on Monday morning, they are sent home the next day via the Tuesday envelope.
